Properties & Applications

Shieldex® Bern is a chemically bonded nonwoven fabric made of polyamide that has been metallized with 99.9% pure silver. Due to the silver content of approx. 40%, Shieldex® Bern is aelectrically and thermally conductive nonwoven fabric, which is known primarily for itsantimicrobial propertiesused as lining material in the clothing industry.

With a shielding performance of up to 45 dB in the frequency range from 0.2 to 5 GHz, the conductive material alsoshielding against electromagnetic radiationFor example, electromagnetic radiation affecting the body can be reduced.

Shieldex® Bern also has an electrical conductivity of < 2.5 Ω/□ and can therefore also be used as a laminate to conduct electrical currents or as a lightning rod in aircraft wings. RoHS and REACH conformity is given.
