Properties & Applications

Shieldex® tulle is a knitted fabric made from a fine, monofilament polyamide yarn that is thermally and electrically conductive. Due to the antimicrobial effect of the silver anchored in the textile, Shieldex® tulle can be used in veterinary and human medicine as well as in wound care. Shieldex® tulle also acts as a shield against electromagnetic radiation. It is therefore used in industry in products that must guarantee EMC protection.

Examples of this include textile Faraday constructions in clothing to reduce cell phone radiation towards the body and as canopies in private areas. Both products are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 compliant. Both conductive textiles are RoHS and REACH compliant.
