Two functions in one textile! Shieldex® Boston is the latest product development from Shieldex. Its special feature is the polyurethane coating on both sides. With a conductive side, the silver-metallized fabric is ideal for sensor applications. The non-conductive back, on the other hand, enables it to be used in various other applications, such as in the clothing and outdoor industries.

Properties & Application

Shieldex® Boston is a pure silver-metallized polyamide ripstop fabric. The special thing about this conductive fabric is the different properties of the front and back of the textile. With an electrical resistance of < 0.3 Ω/□ (max. < 0.5 Ω/□) on one side of the fabric, Shieldex® Boston is ideal for sensor applications in the field of technical textiles and smart wearables. In addition, it is already being used successfully in the field of electrodes. The back of the textile is also provided with a PU coating. However, this PU coating is not electrically and thermally conductive, but water-repellent and resistant to external environmental influences. Therefore, Shieldex® Boston can also be used as an outer material for shielding tents, as a reinforcement material for personal protective equipment (e.g. gloves) or in the clothing industry for sports and outdoor clothing. RoHS and REACH compliance is given.
