A thread made of metallized polyamide and multifilament polyester. Antibacterial and antistatic - ideal for antimicrobial clothing (silver is a biocidal agent according to §67 of the EU Biocide Regulation) and general static dissipation in the industrial sector, homewear, carpets and shoes. The silver-metallized yarn is OEKO-TEX® certified.

Properties & Applications

This thread consists of a Shieldex yarn with a titre of 22dtex and a multifilament polyester (PES) of 113/32dtex. By twisting with PES, this yarn construction has very low stretch and at the same time high tear resistance.

This Shieldex thread is used in the textile industry to make products with antistatic functions. Examples include antistatic carpets, clothing and shoes. The target market for this product is the large-scale textile industry. Oeko-Tex® certification and RoHS and REACH conformity are given.
